The Assessment Roadmap

Attend a 90 minute, in-person clinical interview. Based on what questions you want answered, I will assign questionnaires and behavior checklists.

Attend 4-8 hours of in-person testing. This is usually done in one day.

If applicable, additional information will be gathered from relevant people such as your child’s teacher(s), childcare provider(s), or therapist and/or other healthcare providers.

Attend a 90 minute, in-person feedback session to discuss results and recommendations.

What does the day of testing look like?

  • The day of testing typically begins at 9:00am

  • Scheduled lunch break at 12:00pm

  • Depending on the assessment package, testing resumes in the afternoon at 1:00pm

  • Testing concludes by 4:00pm at the latest

    Considerations:

    • If you/your child is on certain psychiatric medications (e.g., ADHD medications), we can discuss whether medications should be taken on testing day.

    • There will be planned breaks (in addition to lunch) throughout the testing day.

    • Parent(s) are welcome to wait in the office waiting room throughout the day. You will have access to guest WiFi, comfortable seating, and public restroom access.

Example Schedule* (Psychoeducational Package) :

9:00am-10:30am: Cognitive assessment

10:30am-10:45am: Break

10:45am-12:00pm: Academic assessment

12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch

1:00pm-1:30pm: ADHD assessment

1:30pm-2:30pm: Academic assessment

*Windows of time may vary based on pacing and breaks

What is the expected timeline?

I know that when you reach out, you are motivated to get the answers and support as soon as possible. My goal is to ensure a smooth scheduling process and an efficient turn-around for you to have your report.

  • Testing is scheduled within 4-6 weeks of our initial telephone consultation.

  • Feedback sessions are typically scheduled 2-3 weeks after the testing session.

  • You will receive your report 3-5 business days after the feedback session.
